there's problems with the way romney went through that debate. looked good but didn't exactly convey a lot of truth. your thoughts? >> that's exactly what democrats are saying. paul ryan was out today and says that he expects for the next month he's going to hear from the obama campaign that they are liars and you hear liberals picking up on that. again, to go to this point about "saturday night live," i think it underscores what people already saw from that debate, which is that president obama turned in a very poor performance. i thought that he would have been smart to go on to "saturday night live" and sort of lampoon himself. we saw him do that out west. i guess the "saturday night live" folks reached out to him and they both declined. i think it has been a right of passage in elections, going back to 2008 when mccain was on, obama was on, hillary clinton was on and sarah palin, too. it is part of our political discourse. it reinforces the narratives. i think "snl" has had problems portraying obama. they switched to a new guy. jay ferrel see

president obama would you say not prepared for his huge debate with governor romney. this isn't about left, right, good or bad, it's about coming to work to work. his challenger did. he took command. he took charge of that stage. issuing orders to moderator and rival al like. he owned that platform, opened all within the sound of his voice. it was impressive, powerful and must have been just who ahorrib feel the sufficiency of the thing. with romney in the room, there didn't need to be anywhere else. so i'm not here to slam obama for a hard night and that's what it is. my concern is his readiness to skip the politics of this campaign. today that means mastering the 24 hour clock. back and forth of politics, the war room stuff that gets you elected, protects you from being destroyed. did the president know he was allowed to mention his champion of the auto industry, did he know he was allowed to interrupt the pissant conversation about .bs in excuse me, i rescued the auto industry. you were willing to have it go bankrupt. did obama know he could interrupt his rival's e

just yesterday romney told the denver post, scene of the new debate tomorrow night, that he wouldn't revoke the visas, the new ones, that the two-year visas, president obama has granted to some young illegal immigrants. in june he said the people who have received the special visa that the president has put in place should expect that the visa would continue to be valid. i'm not going to take something that they've purchased. before those visas expired, we will have the full immigration reform plan i have proposed. compare that to what we heard in the primary campaign about young people here illegally. let's watch that. >> when i was governor i took the action of 'em powering our state police to enforce immigration laws. when you were governor, you said i don't want to build a fence. you put in place a magnet to draw illegals into the state which was giving $10,000 in of tuition credit to illegals that come into this country. >> even the lingo he's using, the derogatories, illegals, as if they're not people first. we m is the president for the center for american progress near rattan
